CLAIM SERVICES: Veterans' Benefits
Thousands of households were helped by securing approximately $25 million in VA benefits by California AMVETS Service Foundation Veterans Service Officers through the Veterans Administration. On a national level, AMVETS brought in over $450 million in benefits. These benefits are vital for supporting veteran's lives and the communities in which they live in. The Veterans and their families depend on these benefits to put food on the table, purchase medication, clothing for their family, transportation, paying their utility bills and any other needs they may have. The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) provides help for military members transitioning to civilian life. Although the TAP program represents 20 percent of our Veterans' Services programs, we do not receive direct monetary recognition. TAP is not reflected in the numbers shown.
