AMVETS ON LINE REPORTING

AMVETS Department of California

Veterans Outreach Program

This program will be co-sponsored by AMVETS Department and AMVETS Service Foundation.

 Purpose:  Provide Direct Support.

          (1)     To have at least one AMVETS Service Officer and one AMVETS Recruiter at all of the US Army Reserve Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Programs. This is a seven step program to help the troop’s transition back to life at home. Which take place once a month. To give a VA benefits seminar and to let them know of the benefits that is offered by AMVETS such as scholarships. YRRP now includes all branches of the military.

 (2)     To have local Post be involved with the smaller deployments and home comings by having an AMVETS Service Officer and an AMVETS Recruiter in attendance. Also to help with the events. It may be by supplying food or a small monetary donation or just being in attendance to let them know that we care and that we support them.

Welcome to afterdeployment, a mental wellness resource for Service Members, Veterans, and Military Families. If you've deployed, or know someone who has, you know that spending time in a war zone means being changed in some way.  Some of these changes are good.  But some of these changes may be causing problems for you or for someone you know. Having problems after a deployment is normal…Unfortunately, less than half of the Service Members having difficulty after a deployment seek services…

This is our mission: to assist you and the people close to you to manage your after-deployment concerns. We believe that working on solutions is a sign of strength, and the time you spend
here a positive step in ensuring a smooth and healthy transition back to home life...

SAD SACKS May Now “Report” their Programs.

FYI – Please share with all of your Sack Units

Your SAD SACK leadership has requested that all Sack units have the ability to report “their programs.”  The National Programs Dept. has added a specific category to be used by the Sacks. PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE WHAT A POST MAY BE DOING VERSUS A SACK UNIT.

Ž       If an AMVETS post conducts a program; plans, delegates a chair person, secures volunteers, it should be reported as a Post Program. (Even if the Sacks assisted.)

Ž       If the SACKS initiate the program; plan, delegates a chair person, secures volunteers, awards a scholarship, it may/should be reported on the SAD SACK category. (Even if non-Sack AMVETS post members assisted.)

Ž       Remember: When you use the Analyze screen to view/print reports for your post only, you Must Unselect the SAD SACK category.

Ž       Remember: When you use the Analyze screen to view/print reports for your Sack unit only, you Must Unselect all other categories.

The info that follows appears as instructions for the SAD SACK Category on the NEED Help Screen of the Programs Reporting System.

·       DO NOT ENTER POST PROGRAMS IN THIS CATEGORY. Your leadership is interested in capturing Sack programs, particularly the Scholarships your Sack unit is awarding. You MUST enter a "comment" identifying what type of program you are reporting or the data will not be accepted. The comment field will expand but keep it brief. Then enter your data in the same fashion you would normally do for a Post program and submit. If you have other SACK programs to report simply repeat the process by selecting the Sad Sack category again. Questions, please call Beryl Love @ 240.832.7768
